Behavioral Health
At Valley Springs Health & Wellness Center we believe treating the mind is just as important as treating the body; that's why we offer a full range of behavioral health services.
Our Services
Comprehensive care tailored to support your unique journey toward mental wellness.
Behavioral Health Consultation Within Primary Care
Behavioral health consultants work as part of the primary care team, teaming up with a patient's main doctor to help with stress, anxiety, sleep, and other issues that affect both physical and mental health. They provide quick check-ins, support, and help coordinate care. Their role is short-term, practical, and focused on improving overall well-being.
Clinical Psychology
This service is used to assess and identify mental health, brain-related, and developmental conditions. Its main purpose is to better understand and clarify a diagnosis and make recommendations for treatment.
Structured Group Therapy for Substance Use Disorders
This treatment group offers combined care for people dealing with substance use. It includes therapy, medical support with medication (MAT), drug testing, and education in a supportive group setting.
Psychiatric Medication Management
This telepsychiatry program helps people with mild to moderate mental health concerns by providing evaluations and medication to reduce symptoms and improve well-being. Research shows people feel better when medication is combined with behavioral health treatment.
Behavioral Health Navigation
The Behavioral Health Peer Navigator is the main point of contact for the program. They help schedule appointments, make sure patients know about helpful resources, and connect them with outside services and organizations.
Individual Psychotherapy
Behavioral health providers offer therapy for more complex mental health conditions, such as panic disorder, trauma, and severe depression. They provide longer-term, specialized care, including EMDR, IFS, DBT, and talk therapy.
Peer Support for Veterans, Friends, and Family
This peer-led service includes running support groups, leading wellness programs, reaching out to the community, and offering one-on-one coaching.
Child & Youth Services
Pediatric Behavioral Health Consultation (BHC)
Behavioral Health Consultants in pediatrics help children and teens with emotional and behavioral concerns. They work with families and primary care providers to support issues like anxiety, behavior challenges, sleep problems, and stress. They offer brief visits, practical strategies, and help connecting families to additional care when needed — all focused on improving a child's overall health and well-being.
Clinical Psychology
Clinical psychology at VSHWC focuses on evaluating and diagnosing mental health and developmental conditions, including autism, ADHD, and other developmental delays. Services include testing and meeting with parents to explain the results, discuss next steps for treatment, and suggest ways to support and accommodate these needs.
Eligibility
Behavioral Health services are available for established Valley Springs Health & Wellness Center primary care patients only.
